Hey yo! Yep, sorry for not updating because recently I got bored typing and promised my self to make a habit of book reading. Then I came up with an idea that I shall challenge myself and complete 10 books for the entire summer. This book that I'm making a review on will be my third one so good luck to me on the next days!
I've been a fan of Jennifer E. Smith's books lately. I have read up on Probability of Love at First Sight and This Is What Happy Looks Like, both having good and bittersweet endings just like her new book being published just the past month. When I heard that she'll be having another installment to her great works, I went straight to Fully Booked to look for a copy. And then when I found one on Trinoma, fresh from the shelves, I know I should get it right away.
The damn love story is filled with imaginative scenes that would take you up to another location. If you ever wanted to imagine what Paris, Prague, Edinburgh, New York or even San Francisco, then I think you'd want to buy this book. Yes, there are pictures on the internet to look up to but wouldn't it be more fun and exciting if you pictured them right away in your deep and focused mind?
So Owen, who went to New York because his father got a new job, is a funny and smart guy but because of financial crisis and her mom that passed away, his life got twisted. While Lucy, is a young rich gal who's always alone, wherein her parents travel around the globe for work. An elevator then stopped because of a citywide blackout and then there they met. One night of ice cream and talks. Two individuals in a small elevator. Hundred of e-mails and postcards sent. A year-long you-don't-know relationship.
Postcards, stars, Europe, job fairs, Point Zero, Catcher in the Rye, The Little Prince, Bartleby, elevator, the roof where it started all, Big Dipper, train, the ocean, the lake, pigeons, car trips, a bouquet of flowers, cigarettes, Liam, Paisley, new school, new house, new friends, "wish you were here", e-mails, ice cream, discounted bottled water, blackout and a lot of more things that are fascinating and likeable found in this book. Hoping you guys could read it too. It's also available in ebook by the way. *you're welcome Sadie tone*
Au revoir!
